Idea: Translate Button (Chrome Extension) for Non-English Speaking Tradies

Hi everyone,

I’m exploring the idea of building a Chrome Extension that adds a simple “Translate” button next to the “Auto-write” or “Improve writing” tools when composing SMS or emails inside ServiceM8.

The goal is to help non-native English-speaking tradies (for example, those who speak Japanese, Chinese, or Spanish) easily translate their messages into professional English before sending them to clients.

Key features:
• Translate messages from Japanese, Chinese, or Spanish to English
• Insert the translated message back into the input box
• Built as a Chrome Extension, so it won’t affect ServiceM8’s internal code
• Intended to be lightweight and easy to use, without login or setup steps

I’m considering submitting this as a paid add-on in the ServiceM8 Add-ons Marketplace (like other third-party tools), and I’m wondering:
1. Has anyone here submitted a Chrome Extension as a Marketplace add-on before?
2. Would ServiceM8 allow this type of external tool to be listed in the Add-ons section?
3. Any tips on approval or technical requirements?

Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences. Also happy to share a prototype once it’s ready.

Thanks!
