e're currently working on integrating our custom quoting platform (built in React) with the ServiceM8 RESTful API

Hi April,

Hope you're doing well.

We're currently working on integrating our custom quoting platform (built in React) with the ServiceM8 RESTful API. The goal is to streamline our quoting process by syncing data directly between the two systems, creating, updating, and managing quotes and jobs more efficiently.

At the moment, we’re running into a few limitations and would really appreciate your guidance on how to move forward. Specifically, we’d love some help with the following:

  • How do we get the API credentials for our account?

  • Are there specific access levels, permissions, or scopes we need to set up to use the API properly?

  • Are there any rate limits or best practices we should follow to avoid hitting restrictions?

  • Does ServiceM8 support webhooks for real-time updates (like when a quote is approved or a job status changes)? If yes, how do we set them up?

  • Do you have any documentation or examples of best-practice integration workflows for a quoting system like ours?

  • Is there any approval process or review required before we go live with the integration?

Happy to share more technical details about our platform if that helps. We’re really keen to get this working smoothly and make the quoting experience seamless across both systems.
