API data send to ServiceM8

We developed an API with ServiceM8 and can send data to the works description field but it doesn't handle a 'return'. If there are any returns in our data the return symbol is shown in M8 instead of a new sentence. We also tried '/n' to see if that would work but does not. It appears to be a text parsing issue on the M8 end. Any suggestions?
